About Color Codes
This tutorial is about using custom colored text inside Warcraft III.
You can use colors in things like tool tip text, ability descriptions,
display messages,
dialog boxes and the map description.
Color Code Explanation
The vertical stripe introduces the color code.
The first two letters/ciphers deter the transparency. Since letters cannot be transparent, this will be ignored.
The next two letters/ciphers deter the red color tinting.
The next two letters/ciphers deter the blue color tinting.
The last two letters/ciphers deter the green color tinting.
Finally, the |r returns the color to normal.
The code is written hexadecimal. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F)
Example Color Codes
Green: |cff32cd32Text|r
Red: |cffff0000Text|r
Orange: |cff995500Text|r
Yellow: |cffffcc00Text|r
Light Blue: |cff7777aaText|r
Typical Message Colors
Notice: Orange
New unit / ally acquired: Light blue
Hint: Green
Target error / Tooltip hotkey: Yellow
Warning: Red
